Transport

If your hospital stay isn't urgent and you know in advance that you have to go to hospital, planning your trip will help to make sure you get there on time and then get home without delay.

How you get to and from hospital will depend on your condition and where you live.  There are several options when considering your journey.  For more options about hospital parking click here.  If you are getting dropped off to hospital please use the proceed to the boom gate and advise the operator that you are being dropped off and this will take you directly to the front admission office.

Townsville Taxis are available to provide you with door to door service.  You are able to make your booking online or by calling 131 008.  If you require a wheelchair taxi, please request this on booking.

Patients utilising the Uber service can be dropped off or picked up from the main entrances of both campuses. 

Both Mater campus' are accessible by Bus.  You can access the timetables for bus services on the Sunbus Website.

The Townsville Community Flyer offers a door-to-door transport.  The service has been developed for seniors, who due to not driving anymore, cannot get to their appointments, due to lack of transport.  The program also supports disabled/disadvantaged people who have difficulty using public transport.

The TOTTS Community Flyer can also take you to teh hospital for your general health needs, including:

  • outpatient appointments
  • doctors visits
  • specialist visits
  • X-rays
  • visiting friends and family.

ComLink provides door-to-door transport solutions.  You may be eligible for services under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme.
