What makes us different

We offer care for our patients for their physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Our Care is based on the values and philosophy of Catherine McAuley and the Sisters of Mercy. Jesus Christ is central to all we do and this in turn informs our Mater Vision, Mission and Values.

In today’s contemporary environment we hold our Mercy Heritage as our guide (“lighthouse”) and our patient centred care strategy is our foundation from which all services operate.

At Mater we welcome patients and families of all faiths and backgrounds, from all sectors of our North Queensland communities.
